Emily Shortland has been a teacher of Religious Studies and Philosophy for fourteen years. She is an experienced mentor and assessor of teachers and has held various academic and pastoral positions in secondary schools in London and Cambridge.

Research interests include psychoanalytic thinking in the RE classroom with a particular focus on the subjective curriculum and the significance of group psychodynamics among adolescent learners.
